Snow in abundance, a mountain rounded by time, spectacular points of view ... Presenting the fantastic decor featured at the Parc national des Monts-Valin. Dominating the regional landscape, the imposing mountain has about fifteen peaks reaching over 800 meters high. Exceptional snowfall makes this a perfect area for snowshoeing and skiing. The Valley of the Phantoms is a can't-miss experience.  New cabins and shelters were added.

During the spring, colours bring the mountain to life, along with a multitude of exhilarating activities. Several hiking trails across all levels of difficulty, for example the Sentier du Pic-de-la-Hutte, where small trees share space with arctic-alpine plants. Six lakes are accessible for trout fishing on a daily basis or in a package deal with accommodations. Try your hand and canoeing along the Valin River!

No matter the season, a variety of accommodations are available, from campsites to cabins, you'll find the perfect stay to suit your nature. To further enhance your experience, the park offers also various services, including equipment rentals, luggage transportation and marine shuttles. Just one glance on the Monts Valin and you'll feel like a Giant.

Open: Mid-June to mid-October and mid-December until the end of March

Entry: Access fees applicable.

Outdoor Activities All Year Long

Looming 984 metres high above Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean landscape, parc national des Monts-Valin is the perfect destination to enjoy all year long outdoor activities. Fishing for speckled trout and canoeing goes on in a multitude of park lakes and rivers. As an alternative to canoeing, stand-up paddling is an original way to explore the twists and turns of the Valin River. In the fall, hiking is a must. Enjoy a day on the trails or some backpacking with hut accommodations. With an exceptional snow cover, winter turns this territory into an ideal spot for snowshoeing or backcountry skiing.
